Our Mission Statement

OSP International exists to partner with local churches in their calling to fulfill the Great Commission by offering oral Biblical training that inspires and equips churches to reach every nation, language, and tribe that has little or no access to God’s Word.

Six key principles that shape OSP’s training strategy:

1. Jesus Modeled Orality

Jesus taught using stories, parables, and conversations in informal settings. He discipled through relationships, not lectures. OSP follows this model, equipping believers to share Scripture orally in homes, fields, markets, and workplaces—wherever people naturally gather.

2. Experiential Learning

OSP trainers model storytelling rather than merely teaching about it. Participants learn through experience: hearing, retelling, and discussing stories together. This hands-on approach helps learners internalize both the story and the method.

3. Culturally Connected Scripture

OSP uses an ethnohermeneutical framework—helping people interpret Scripture through their own cultural lens. Stories are crafted and told in ways that connect the biblical world with the worldview of the audience, bridging biblical truth and present reality.

4. Simplicity and Reproducibility

OSP methods are designed to be simple, scalable, and easily passed on. By avoiding complex tools or written materials, and by encouraging participants to take the lead, OSGs can multiply rapidly in oral contexts without dependence on outside leaders.

5. Transformation through Participation

OSGs aim for life change, not just knowledge. Group discussions center around five key questions that help participants discover the meaning of the story and apply it to their lives—individually and communally. Transformation is expected at the personal, family, church, and community levels.

6. The Storyteller Matters

OSP emphasizes that the messenger and message are deeply connected. Storytellers who live the truth they share carry greater credibility and impact. Training equips local believers to become faithful storytellers—disciples who make disciples through authentic witness.

Conclusion

This training model reflects OSP’s holistic vision of Scripture engagement: biblically grounded, culturally relevant, orally delivered, and life-transforming. By equipping leaders to train others using these principles, OSP seeks to spark sustainable movements of oral discipleship across cultures—one story, one group, one changed life at a time.
